Our 2009 All Breed Dog Shows, Obedience Trials
& Rally Trials have been approved by The American Kennel Club for January 31st and February 1st, 2009; entries for
the two days are 860 and 858, respectively. Judges include Mrs. Judith A. Brown, Ms. Beverly Capstick, Dr. David
O. Harris, Mrs. Jane G. Kay, Ms. Joanne (Jan) N. Paulk, Mrs. Linda Scanlon and Mrs. Judy Webb.they
have been approved.The Comformation Judges are Mrs. Mildred K. Bryant, Mrs. Tomas (Alane L.)
Gomez, Dr. Steve Keating, Dr. Eric Liebes, Mrs. Nancy Liebes, and Mr. Joe Tacker; Obedience Judges include Ms. Lynn F.
Eggers, Mrs. Tomas (Alane L.) Gomez, and Mrs. Joan M. Pfeifer.

The January 31st/February 1st, 2009 AKC Dog Show & Obedience Trial held at the Lea County Event
Center drew 840 entries and another 18 Rally Obedience entries each day.

Upcoming Events
Obedience classes will be offered beginning March 2009 at
2337 North Jefferson in Hobbs; the Canine Good Citizen test may be offered at the end of the eight-week class. Sign-up for classes
will be held on Tuesday, March 17th at 7:00 pm; each dog will be assigned to the "puppy" or "adult" class at that
time based on their age. Classes will begin on March 31st, 2009 and will be held every week thereafter for six
more weeks, with graduation the last night. Puppy classes typically start at 6:45 pm, followed later
